THSABC is a 501 (C)(3) organization that was created to provide support to the Taylor High
School athletes and athletic programs, and aide in funding for athletic upgrades and equipment.
It also provides many student athletes with collegiate
scholarships. Each year THSABC gives out a minimum of ten scholarships to student athletes
that are selected by a committee comprised of Taylor High School counselors, the campus
athletic coordinator, and a member of the THSABC executive board. KISD provides some of the
essential funding for many of the necessary expenditures; however anything above and beyond
the scope of the district’s funding is the responsibility of each school’s booster club.
Support for the Taylor High School Booster Club is made possible through various means that
include a strong commitment from the Katy community and the neighboring areas. Financial
support is made possible through the THSABC membership, advertising in the sports’ athletic
programs, sales of school spirit wear, an annual golf tournament and sales of concessions at all
on-campus sporting events. Memberships in the THSABC are open to all parents and families of
James E. Taylor High School students, teachers, alumni, and members of the community who
wish to assist in the betterment of the student athletes.
The 2008-2009 school year should prove to be an exciting time as we head into a new district
comprised of the six KISD schools. The winning tradition will continue with our new Head Football
Coach and Campus Athletic Coordinator, Flint Risien. Coach Risien came to James E. Taylor
High School in early 2008 after coaching at the college ranks at Southern Methodist University.
He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our campus as he gears toward enhancing
both the boys and girls athletic programs.
I ask you to consider membership in the Taylor High School Booster Club. Your membership is
essential to the success and growth of our athletic programs. There are various levels of
membership available to best fit your needs. Please remember that a portion of your membership
